Job Purpose:
The GPS Technician will be responsible for installing, maintaining, and troubleshooting GPS tracking systems in vehicles and other assets. This role requires technical expertise, strong problem-solving skills, and excellent customer support abilities.Key Responsibilities:
- Install GPS tracking devices in vehicles and assets according to specifications.
- Configure and program GPS devices for accurate tracking and reporting.
- Perform routine maintenance, diagnose and repair GPS systems.
- Conduct quality checks and testing to ensure system accuracy and performance.
- Provide technical support and training to customers.
- Maintain accurate records of installations, maintenance, and service activities.
- Generate reports and provide feedback for system improvements.
- Carry out other tasks as requested by management.
Knowledge, Skills and Experience Required:
- High school diploma or equivalent; technical training in electronics/telecom/automotive is a plus.
- Experience in GPS tracking systems or similar devices.
- Understanding of GPS technology, satellite navigation, and telemetry.
- Proficiency with diagnostic tools and troubleshooting software.
- Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to work independently and adapt to changing priorities.
- Valid driver’s license with clean record and ability to travel.
