Job Purpose
To drive the growth of Watu Simu by acquiring new customers, nurturing dealership relationships, and implementing strategic sales and promotional initiatives. The Sales Representative plays a key role in ensuring product visibility, optimizing retail execution, and achieving defined sales and customer onboarding targets. This role contributes directly to Watu’s mission of empowering entrepreneurs through accessible and flexible financing solutions.

- Customer Acquisition & Sales Performance
- Identify and recruit new customers to meet set sales and onboarding targets.
- Execute approved promotional campaigns and activation strategies in designated regions.
- Track and report on sales performance and dealership KPIs, recommending improvement actions.
- Retail & Dealership Engagement
- Build and maintain strong, professional relationships with dealership managers and store teams.
- Communicate company updates and initiatives to Watu customers and partner outlets.
- Monitor store capacity, stock levels, and in-store pricing to ensure smooth retail operations.
- Market Intelligence & Feedback
- Conduct regular market sensing to provide actionable insights and recommend solutions.
- Ensure accuracy of promotional pricing and competitive benchmarking across retail points.
- Capture and resolve customer feedback and dealership concerns through proper channels.
- Training & Brand Execution
- Identify training needs for dealers and store staff; coordinate or deliver sessions to enhance sales skills and process adherence.
- Ensure compliance with Watu Simu’s brand and display guidelines across all dealerships.
- Negotiate and secure optimal product display areas for increased brand visibility.
- Team Leadership & Reporting
- Supervise and support direct reports in achieving sales targets.
- Conduct performance appraisals, training, and regular field coaching.
- Develop and implement efficient route planning and daily sales discipline within the team.

- Must have a valid driver’s license and a personal vehicle, as the role involves regular travel.
- A diploma in Marketing, Business Administration, or a related field from a recognized institution.
- A minimum of 4 years’ experience in sales, account management, or a related field, preferably within the telecommunications or IT industry. At least 1 year of experience in leading or supervising a team is required.
- Strong understanding of mobile phone models and common device issues.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications (Word, Excel, PowerPoint).
- Knowledge or experience in asset financing is an added advantage.
- Demonstrated integrity and responsible handling of business transactions.
- Ability to build rapport quickly and cultivate strong, lasting relationships with partners and clients.
- Strong sales and marketing skills with a focus on customer acquisition and closing deals.
- Excellent planning, coordination, and analytical skills.
- Effective verbal and written communication skills.
- High attention to detail and accuracy in all tasks.
