Job Overview:
The Entry-Level Junior Finance Officer is an integral part of the finance team, responsible for assisting with various financial tasks and gaining hands-on experience in financial management, analysis, and reporting. This position provides an excellent opportunity for recent graduates or individuals new to the finance field to develop foundational skills and grow within the organization.
Key Responsibilities:
- Financial Data Entry and Record Keeping:
- Assist in maintaining accurate financial records, including entering transactions into accounting software and organizing financial documents.
- Support accounts payable and receivable processes by verifying invoices, processing payments, and reconciling accounts.
- Assist with data entry tasks related to payroll, expenses, and other financial transactions.
- Financial Analysis and Reporting:
- Assist in preparing financial reports, including income statements, balance sheets, and cash flow statements, under the guidance of senior finance staff.
- Participate in financial analysis projects, such as variance analysis and trend analysis, to identify key insights and trends.
- Help compile data and prepare presentations for internal meetings and reports to stakeholders.
- Budgeting and Forecasting Support:
- Provide assistance in the budgeting process by gathering data, updating spreadsheets, and preparing budget reports.
- Assist in monitoring budget performance and variance analysis, highlighting areas of concern or improvement.
- Support financial forecasting efforts by collecting relevant data and inputting information into forecasting models.
- Compliance and Documentation:
- Assist in ensuring compliance with financial regulations, policies, and procedures by maintaining accurate records and documentation.
- Help prepare documentation and provide support during internal audits and regulatory inspections.
- Stay updated on changes in financial regulations and standards to ensure compliance.
- Administrative Support:
- Provide administrative support to the finance team, including organizing files, scheduling meetings, and responding to routine inquiries.
- Assist with ad hoc projects and tasks as assigned by senior finance staff to support departmental goals and initiatives.
Knowledge, Skills and Experience required:
- Bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting, Economics, or related field.
- Strong analytical skills with attention to detail and accuracy.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and other Office suite applications.
- Excellent organizational and time management skills with the ability to prioritize tasks.
- Effective communication skills, both verbal and written.
- Ability to work collaboratively in a team environment and willingness to learn.
- Integrity and discretion in handling confidential financial information.
