Role Purpose

The EV Operations Manager will lead and manage Watu Credit Rwanda’s Electric Vehicle operations end-to-end, ensuring efficient execution across procurement, customer onboarding, loan disbursement, fleet and portfolio management, after-sales support, and ownership transfer.

The role is responsible for driving operational excellence, strong portfolio performance, excellent customer experience, and scalable EV business growth.


Key Responsibilities

1. Procurement & Inventory Management

  • Coordinate EV procurement, supplier management, and spare parts ordering
  • Ensure proper inventory tracking and stock availability
  • Oversee customs clearance, registration, and asset documentation
  • Maintain accurate records of all EV assets

2. Loan Disbursement & Customer Onboarding

  • Supervise loan processing and bike disbursement process
  • Ensure complete documentation and compliance before asset release
  • Improve turnaround time from approval to delivery
  • Enforce credit and operational procedures

3. Fleet & Portfolio Management

  • Monitor fleet performance, repayments, and utilization
  • Manage portfolio quality and early delinquency response
  • Work closely with collections and recovery teams
  • Ensure accurate tracking of all asset statuses

4. Customer Experience & After-Sales Support

  • Ensure efficient handling of customer issues and queries
  • Improve service response time and customer satisfaction
  • Reduce operational delays affecting customer experience

5. Ownership Transfer Management

  • Manage end-of-loan ownership transfer processes
  • Ensure timely and compliant transfer of ownership documents
  • Liaise with relevant authorities where required

6. Team Leadership

  • Lead and develop EV operations, sales support, and field teams
  • Set performance targets and conduct regular performance reviews
  • Build a high-performance and accountable team culture

7. Reporting & Compliance

  • Deliver accurate operational reports (weekly/monthly)
  • Ensure compliance with internal policies and regulatory requirements
  • Support audits and maintain proper documentation standards

Qualifications & Experience

  • Bachelor’s degree in Business, Finance, Operations, Supply Chain, Engineering, or related field
  • Minimum 5 years’ experience in operations, asset finance, microfinance, or mobility sector
  • Experience managing teams and field operations
  • EV or motorbike financing experience is an added advantage
  • Strong proficiency in English and Kinyarwanda
